Career
During Chongtian’s coaching career in Massachusetts, Chongtian has trained his students using the professional badminton training techniques that he learned in China. Chongtian plays a significant role in popularizing badminton in Massachusetts and has helped the East Coast overcome the West Coast’s former dominance in the sport. He led the USA Junior team at the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships and the Junior World Badminton Championships multiple times. At the Pan Am Junior Championships, he coached players who went on to become Junior Pan American Champions. He has also coached players who went on to become World Junior Champion. Other students of his have been selected for the United States National Team, and attempted to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games. Additionally, Chongtian has also been coaching Huang Yuxiang of the Chinese National Team, and helped him achieve a world ranking of 22.
Almost all of the competitive juniors in Massachusetts have trained under Chongtian, and Chongtian strives to continue to develop Massachusetts badminton.
